Peach Pie Protein Smoothie

Another “National Day” means another excuse to celebrate with a delicious recipe! That’s right—today is National Peach Pie Day. While we’re generally fans of pies and desserts, we figured we’d put a healthier spin on this holiday by turning peach pie into a drinkable breakfast or post-workout treat! Because we should all be able to enjoy peach pie at any time of day, dammit. And now, we can! (You’re welcome.)

The following recipe will make two small smoothies or, if you’re considering this a meal or need some extra protein after a killer workout, one large smoothie. And other than frozen peaches, chances are you already have everything you need to make this smoothie in your kitchen!

Peach Pie Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups frozen peaches
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder; we used Garden of Life Organic Vegan Protein Powder.
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Yield: 2 servings
Serving size: 1 smoothie
